NAME

fmsbackend − uds controlled fms sound engine

SYNOPSIS

fmsbackend [udsfilename]

DESCRIPTION

fmsbackend enables access to the F Modular Synthesizer through uds communication.

fmsbackend acts as a uds client. It will communicate with a uds server via the fms-protocol as documented in the FROCOR project documentation or in the fms source directory in the file PROTOCOL. You can for instance connect fmsbackend to a FROCOR server via fmsconverter. Both programs can be found in FROCOR distributions.

If used with a generic uds client such as genuds (from FROCOR) you can use fmsbackend to do on-the-fly playing and changing of fms sound structures.

OPTIONS

udsfilename

Connects to specified uds socket. Default is /tmp/fms-uds.
